By checking the media consent box during enrollment, you voluntarily consent to the capture and use of images and recordings as described below. This consent is entirely optional — declining does not affect your access to Educa's services in any way.

1. Purpose

Educa Tutoring Inc. may occasionally photograph or video record activities at our tutoring centres for use in marketing, promotional, and educational materials. This policy explains what we may capture, how we use it, and your rights regarding your or your child's image.

2. Parental Consent for Minors

If the enrolled student is under 18 years of age, the parent or legal guardian must provide media consent on their behalf. By checking the media consent box, the parent or guardian confirms that:

  • They are the parent or legal guardian of the enrolled student
  • They have the authority to grant consent for the capture and use of the minor's image
  • They have read and understood this Media Consent policy in full

3. What May Be Captured

With your consent, the following types of media may be captured at our centres:

  • Photographs of students during tutoring sessions or centre activities
  • Video recordings of group sessions or centre events
  • Written testimonials or success stories (submitted voluntarily)

4. How Media May Be Used

Captured images and recordings may be used solely for the following purposes:

  • Educa's website (www.educatutoring.com) and social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
  • Print and digital marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, and advertisements
  • Promotional videos, reels, and testimonials
  • Educational case studies or success stories (with any identifying details anonymized upon request)
  • Internal staff training and quality improvement

5. What We Will Not Do

  • We will not sell your or your child's image to any third party.
  • We will not use images in any defamatory, discriminatory, or harmful context.
  • We will not share images with third-party commercial partners without your separate, express written consent.
  • We will not publish images of minors without valid parental consent on file.

6. Duration & Withdrawal of Consent

Media consent remains valid from the date of acceptance until you withdraw it in writing. If you end your service relationship with Educa, consent for capturing new media is automatically revoked from that date forward.

Media already published or distributed before withdrawal may remain in use. If you would like previously published media removed, please submit a written request to info@educatutoring.com and we will action it within 30 days.

7. Your Rights Under Quebec Law 25

Images and recordings of identifiable individuals are personal information under Quebec Law 25. You therefore have the right to:

  • Access images of yourself or your child that Educa holds
  • Request correction or removal of images from our materials
  • Withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@educatutoring.com
  • File a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI) at www.cai.gouv.qc.ca

8. Acceptance

By checking the "I consent to media use" box during enrollment on www.educatutoring.com, you confirm that: (1) you have read and understood this Media Consent policy; (2) you are 18 years of age or older; (3) if consenting for a minor, you are the parent or legal guardian of that minor; and (4) you voluntarily grant the consent described above. If you do not check this box, no media will be captured featuring you or your child.

Your acceptance, along with the date, time, and IP address, is recorded at the time of checkbox selection as evidence of your consent.
